How to polish leather shoes without shoe polish

Banana peel

The tannic acid in ripe banana peels softens and polishes leather shoes. Use an old T-shirt or soft cloth to wipe off dirt from your shoes, then use the inside of a ripe banana peel to rub in circular motions across the surface of your shoes.

Then, use a soft dry cloth to wipe off the banana stains. This is an extremely quick and effective way to polish leather shoes.

Toothpaste

Toothpaste not only helps clean your teeth but also helps you remove stains, making your shoes shiny. First, use a towel or brush to clean the dirt on the shoes, then apply toothpaste evenly on the stains.

After 5 minutes, use a wet brush to gently brush the areas where you applied toothpaste. Finally, wipe the surface with a soft cloth and your shoes will be as clean as new.

Alcohol or liquor

Alcohol or rubbing alcohol has a high cleaning ability, so it can easily remove stubborn stains on shoes. Because high alcohol concentrations can affect the surface of the shoe, you need to mix alcohol with soap or shampoo, apply this solution to the shoe, then use a brush to clean.

Hair gel
