The 2023 National Rowing and Canoeing Championships concluded on November 22 at the Hai Phong Rowing Training Area, after nearly 2 weeks of competition.
Hai Duong rowers won a total of 3 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
The gold medal in rowing went to athletes: Nhu Dinh Nam, Vu Lam Phong, Trieu Hoang Long and Nguyen Huu Thanh, men's 4-scull, distance 2,000 m.
The gold medal in canoeing was won by athletes Nguyen Van Cuong, Vu Dinh Linh, Nguyen Thi Tuyet and Nguyen Thi Loi in the mixed 4-scull event, distance 1,000 m. The remaining gold medal in this event belonged to athlete Pham Hong Quan, in the men's single scull event, distance 1,000 m. Pham Hong Quan also won 3 silver medals in the men's double scull event, distance 1,000 m with Oceania and men's single scull events, distance 200 m, 500 m.
Attending this tournament, Hai Duong delegation has 2 coaches and 18 athletes. This is the last major tournament of the year for Hai Duong rowers in these 2 sports.
The 2023 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship is organized by the Vietnam Rowing Federation in collaboration with the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports. This year's tournament attracts 450 athletes from 30 delegations from provinces, cities and sectors across the country.
At this tournament, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation had an absolute advantage when winning a total of 14 gold medals.
