The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Decision No. 3854/QD-BGDDT on approving Communication Materials on mental health of high school students.
Accordingly, this document is used as a communication document to improve knowledge and skills on student mental health care for school health workers, teachers, education managers, and parents.
The document will be posted on the electronic information portal not only of the Ministry of Education and Training but also of all educational institutions, from primary to high school, and departments of education and training across the country, to be exploited and used as documents to organize and implement a number of solutions to improve mental health for students in schools.
The document set consists of 73 pages with three chapters. Chapter 1 provides information on the development of children and students in terms of emotional and cognitive social, moral, brain and learning processes.
Chapter two focuses on the topic of improving mental health for students with solutions and responsibilities of parties such as schools, teachers, school health workers, and parents. This chapter also mentions behavioral management strategies in schools such as counseling, life skills education, education to prevent psychological difficulties and risky behaviors, and warning signs to watch out for.
Chapter three delves into some of the mental health issues of students such as stress and anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional behavior problems, substance use problems, etc.
