According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Hanoi Heart Hospital has just proposed implementing a free heart disease screening program for children in Hai Duong, expected to take place in the first quarter of 2024.
Hanoi Heart Hospital will send a team of specialized doctors to screen children in localities in the province. Children from policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and families with especially difficult circumstances, after examination, are indicated for surgery or cardiovascular intervention and will receive free surgery support.
This is the second time Hanoi Heart Hospital has organized free heart disease screening and detection for children in Hai Duong.
Previously, in October 2023, for the first time, Hanoi Heart Hospital conducted free examinations in Hai Duong and detected 25 cases of congenital heart disease, of which 16 cases required surgery. Of the 16 cases requiring surgery, the hospital supported free surgery for 6 children in difficult circumstances.
