A woman in Vinh Long was arrested by the investigation agency for using deceitful tricks to defraud nearly 30 billion VND.
On October 3, the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Long Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Huynh Thi Phuong Kieu (52 years old, residing in Vinh Long City) to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the initial investigation, the defendant Kieu knew Ms. THY (living in Vinh Long City) through business relationships. From 2015 to 2019, the defendant Kieu borrowed money from Ms. Y. many times and fully paid the principal and interest.
Taking advantage of the victim's trust, Ms. Kieu provided false information that she was working in the bank loan repayment business and had a source of customers who needed money to repay the loan in order to continue asking Ms. Y to borrow money.
However, in reality, after receiving the money, Ms. Kieu did not lend it to anyone as stated, but used the money to pay off other debts.
With the above method, defendant Kieu appropriated nearly 30 billion VND from Ms. Y.
