On April 1, Binh Thuan Provincial Police announced that they had issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Thanh Duy (31 years old, residing in Ham Thuan Bac district) for embezzlement.
According to Binh Thuan Provincial Police, Duy started working at Tan A Dai Thanh Company - Phan Thiet branch since September 2019 and was appointed as director and sales staff.
Duy's main duties are to manage business operations, sales, collect money and submit it to the company.
From February to November 2022, taking advantage of his assigned position and responsibilities, Duy collected debts and money for purchases from customers but did not submit all of them to the accountant of the Phan Thiet branch, but kept them for personal use.
According to the company's regulations, at the end of each month, the debts must be reconciled with the agents. In order to avoid being discovered by customers and the branch accountant, Duy took the debt reconciliation minutes at the end of each month and forged the agents' signatures, then submitted them.
With the above behavior, Duy has appropriated nearly 1.4 billion VND, and up to now has no ability to recover.
Duy was prosecuted for embezzlement.
