Handing over 11 rare monkeys at Nham Duong pagoda to the national park

On the morning of September 6, Kinh Mon Forest Protection Department (Hai Duong Forest Protection Department) coordinated with Animals Asia to hand over 11 rare monkeys at Nham Duong Pagoda to Vu Quang National Park (Ha Tinh).

The monkeys belong to four species: pig-tailed macaques, red-faced macaques, golden macaques and cynomolgus macaques.

This is the second handover of a total of 25 monkeys of 4 species including pig-tailed macaques, red-faced macaques, golden macaques and cynomolgus monkeys that have been raised for many years from Nham Duong Pagoda to Vu Quang National Park.

After being brought to Vu Quang National Park, these monkeys will be supported by experts from Animals Asia to change their diet, treat some diseases (if any), vaccinate... The quarantine and recovery period is within 3 weeks before being released back into the wild.

After being brought to Vu Quang National Park, the monkeys will be quarantined, vaccinated, have their diet changed and be treated for certain diseases.

Previously, 14 monkeys handed over from the first batch on July 3 were released and survived quite well in the natural environment on the island at Vu Quang National Park.

Previously, on September 1, the Hai Duong City Forest Protection Department (Hai Duong Forest Protection Sub-Department) and the family of Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong in Vu Xa residential area, Ai Quoc ward (Hai Duong city) handed over a sun bear weighing more than 100 kg to the Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Center (Ninh Binh). This bear has been raised by Ms. Huong's family for more than 10 years.
