The upgraded Porsche Taycan, Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 and Audi RS e-tron GT Quattro are luxury electric cars that have recently been launched in the Vietnamese market.
The luxury electric car segment in Vietnam is currently still the exclusive playground of German brands. With a selling price of around 5 billion VND, the following models are certainly not for the majority.
Porsche Taycan 2025: 4.62-9.51 billion VND
Porsche Taycan is the first pure electric sports supercar to arrive in Vietnam in 2020. Recently, on October 17, the German car company introduced the 2025 version of Taycan to Vietnam with many upgrades.
Specifically, the 2025 Taycan has 2 variants: Sports Sedan and Cross Turismo with 8 versions, 5 more versions than before. The selling price of this pure electric sports car is quite different between versions, ranging from 4.62 billion VND for the base Taycan version and the highest is 9.51 billion VND for the Taycan Turbo GT version.
The 2025 Porsche Taycan still has a 1-motor electric motor configuration on the standard rear-wheel drive versions, and 2 electric motors on the 4S, Turbo and Turbo S versions with 4-wheel drive.
The base versions use rear-wheel drive, taking 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h, 0.6 seconds faster than the previous version. The top-of-the-line version Taycan Turbo GT has upgraded power, increasing from 750 horsepower to 938 horsepower. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, becoming Porsche's fastest production car.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: 7.61 billion VND
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 electric luxury car was launched in the Vietnamese market on October 10, within the framework of The Avantgarde 2024 exhibition in Hanoi. This electric SUV has only one version with a selling price of 7.61 billion VND. This is the first pure electric Maybach car model in Vietnam.
In terms of performance, the two electric motors at the front and rear of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV produce a maximum capacity of 658 horsepower and 955Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and has a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
This super luxury SUV is equipped with a 118kWh Lithium-ion battery system, allowing it to travel 559-611 km after a full charge. The DC charging system allows charging from 10-80% in just 31 minutes, while AC charging helps to fully charge the battery in more than 6 hours.
Audi e-tron GT Quattro: 3.95 - 4.99 billion VND
Audi introduced electric cars to Vietnam quite early. In July 2022, Audi launched the standard e-tron GT quattro. Nearly a year later, in April 2023, Audi introduced the high-performance RS e-tron GT version, which is considered to compete directly with its "compatriot" Porsche Taycan. The two versions Audi e-tron GT Quattro and RS e-tron GT are priced at 3.95 and 4.99 billion VND, respectively.
The standard Audi e-tron GT quattro is equipped with two electric motors, producing 476 horsepower and 630Nm of torque combined with a 2-speed automatic transmission. The "Over Boost" feature (temporary power increase for a short time) increases the capacity to 530 horsepower and torque to 640Nm. This version comes with an 85kWh battery pack, allowing it to travel 488km after each full charge. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 245 km/h.
Compared to the standard version, the Audi RS e-tron GT is much more outstanding in terms of performance. The car has a capacity of 598 horsepower and 830Nm of torque. In "Boost" mode, the car can produce up to 646 horsepower and 830Nm of torque. The RS e-tron GT accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds (0.8 seconds faster than the regular version) and can travel a distance of 472km on a full charge.
