Labor safety must come from the awareness of the workers to the business owners and production facilities. Realizing this, Vinakids Toys Company Limited in Thong Nhat Commune (Gia Loc) pays special attention to building a safe working environment. Mr. Pham Minh Tuyen, Director of the company said: "Whether the working environment is safe or not must start from the business owners themselves. Right from the construction of the factory, we focused on the design so that the production workshops are airy, fully equipped with protective equipment for workers, fire prevention and fighting safety equipment and escape routes when required."

Not only business owners need to raise awareness about labor safety, each worker must also take this requirement seriously. Mr. Ta Dinh Dung, a worker at Thinh Thien Vietnam New Energy Co., Ltd. in Phu Thai Industrial Park (Kim Thanh) commented: “Workers themselves must be responsible for protecting themselves first. When working, they must wear full labor protection. When operating machinery, they must understand the techniques to use the correct process. In particular, they must comply with the safety regulations of each type of machinery. If they are subjective, it is easy to cause accidents for themselves and others.”

The working environment has a significant impact on the productivity and health of workers. Therefore, in recent times, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has regularly implemented training, support, inspection and assessment of enterprises and production facilities to ensure occupational safety and improve the working environment in many forms. Raising awareness of occupational safety for business owners and workers in enterprises has received more attention through training and drills on occupational safety and hygiene.

A representative of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that in order to clearly identify the role of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, the unit has recently sent many staff directly to enterprises and production facilities to provide guidance and support. In 2022, Hai Duong had more than 70 enterprises receiving support and advice on occupational safety and hygiene. In the first 3 months of this year alone, 10 enterprises received support. Inspection and handling of violations have also been carried out seriously.

“Healthy workers, growing businesses”, this is the opinion of Ms. Nguyen Thi Man, Head of Administration and Human Resources Department of Zhi Xing Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Nguyen Giap Industrial Park (Tu Ky). Ms. Man said that before accepting workers, the company's leaders thoroughly grasp the regulations on labor safety to raise awareness and responsibility at each stage of production. Workers who do well will be rewarded, and those who violate will be punished. Boards of rules and regulations on machine operation are posted in many places for workers to easily follow and implement. Thanks to the full implementation of regulations on labor safety and hygiene, attracting workers to work for the company is also more convenient, many workers have been with the company for a long time.

Labor safety is also one of the important commitments for enterprises exporting to large markets such as the US, Japan and the EU. Before signing orders, partners in these markets often send experts or directly come to evaluate and inspect the level of labor safety and hygiene of the enterprise. In particular, factors related to fire prevention, fire fighting and labor safety standards must be strictly implemented or the contract will be terminated.
