80 vivid works at the photo exhibition "Hanoi in me"

The 2024 photo exhibition "Hanoi in me" with the theme "Hanoi's rise and breakthrough" introduces to the art-loving public 80 photos by more than 30 authors from the Economic & Urban Newspaper, the Hanoi Senior Photography Club, and a number of central and local newspapers. The works are valuable documents recording historical moments, memorable milestones, and brilliant achievements of Hanoi after 70 years of liberation. Through that, the public can clearly feel a heroic, gallant Hanoi, a Hanoi rich in cultural identity, striving to integrate...

The exhibition consists of 3 thematic blocks: "Hanoi - Heroic Capital" with works recording the heroic years, historical milestones of Hanoi from the time of the capital's liberation (October 10, 1954) to 1975; "Hanoi on the road to innovation" are images of Hanoi from 1975-2008, the period before the expansion of administrative boundaries according to Resolution No. 15/2008/NQ-QH12 of the 12th National Assembly; "Hanoi Breaks Through Today" includes works reflecting the development of the capital today, the urbanization process, the strong changes of the capital Hanoi after 70 years of liberation. Along with that are creative spaces to help viewers understand more about a thousand-year-old Thang Long-Hanoi culture that is constantly growing...

Attending the exhibition, Mr. Muhammad Junaidi, an Indonesian tourist, had more feelings about the people and country of Vietnam. He said: "Vietnam has an amazing history, having gone through two wars against France and the US. I admire you. From the ruins caused by American B52 bombs carpeting Hanoi in 1972, as in this photo by photographer Trinh Hai. You have rebuilt the city, beautiful and modern as it is now. I also know and love President Ho Chi Minh - the outstanding leader of Vietnam".

This year marks the 19th year that the photo exhibition "Hanoi in Me" has been held. This is one of the important cultural activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

In his opening speech, Editor-in-Chief of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2024 "Hanoi in Me" photo exhibition, Nguyen Thanh Loi, affirmed that in the first years of its organization, the "Hanoi in Me" photo exhibition was small in scale, just like a "game" for senior photographers. Up to now, the exhibition has become an annual cultural event on the occasion of the Liberation Day of the capital. More and more photographers, press colleagues and the public are coming to the exhibition. That proves that the exhibition is attracting more and more attention, the works are of increasingly high quality, creating a brand in the hearts of the public.

The exhibition will be open from September 23-30 at the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities at the Temple of Literature. From October 1, the photo collection will be displayed at Cat Linh Station (Hanoi).
