Seven Vietnamese celebrities honored by UNESCO include: Nguyen Trai, President Ho Chi Minh, Nguyen Du, Chu Van An, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ho Xuan Huong and Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac.
To date, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has passed a resolution to honor and celebrate the birth/death anniversaries of 7 outstanding Vietnamese individuals: the 600th anniversary of the birth of Nguyen Trai (1980); the 100th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (1990); the 250th anniversary of the birth of Nguyen Du (2015); the 650th anniversary of the death of teacher Chu Van An (2019); the 200th anniversary of the birth of Nguyen Dinh Chieu (2021); the 250th anniversary of the birth and 200th anniversary of the death of female poet Ho Xuan Huong (2021) and the 300th anniversary of the birth of famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (2023).
