On the evening of October 17, Bac Kan Provincial General Hospital received 5 patients suspected of food poisoning after eating at a sidewalk restaurant in Bac Kan City.
The hospitalized patients (3 males, 2 females) include: Mr. Tr.V.Ch., born in 1987, residing in Don Phong commune, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province, was hospitalized at 8:00 p.m. with nausea, dizziness and abdominal pain.
Ms. LTN, born in 2002 in Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province, was admitted to the hospital at 8:10 p.m. with symptoms of vomiting, dizziness and abdominal pain.
Mr. LVL, born in 1994 in Nghien Loan commune, Pac Nam district, Bac Kan province, was admitted to the hospital at 8:15 p.m. with symptoms of vomiting, dizziness and fatigue;
Mr. HMĐ, born in 1995, residing in Don Phong commune, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province. Admitted to the hospital at 20:30 with symptoms of vomiting and dizziness.
Ms. Ch.TV, born in 1999 in Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province, was admitted to the hospital at 8:44 p.m. with vomiting, dizziness, and fatigue.
Doctor Tran Van Tuyen, Director of Bac Kan General Hospital, said: As soon as the patients were admitted, the hospital mobilized medical staff and equipment to urgently carry out emergency and detoxification measures. By 10 p.m. the same day, the seriously ill patients had gradually regained consciousness, and the health of the five people was basically under control.
Through medical examination, the patient and his family said that at around 7:00 p.m. on October 17, a group of 5 people went to eat at a sidewalk restaurant on the Cau River embankment, in Song Cau Ward, Bac Kan City. Immediately after eating, they showed signs of poisoning and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. After the incident, the Bac Kan Department of Health and relevant agencies conducted food samples at the restaurant to test and determine the cause of the incident.
