12 teams registered to compete in wrapping Chung cake, 7 teams competed in pounding Day cake at Con Son - Kiep Bac spring festival

According to the Organizing Committee of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival, 12 teams representing 12 districts, towns and cities registered for the Chung cake wrapping competition; 7 districts, towns and cities including: Hai Duong City, Chi Linh, Kinh Mon, Cam Giang, Gia Loc, Thanh Ha and Tu Ky registered for the Day cake pounding competition at the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival in 2023.

According to the Organizing Committee's request, the members of the banh chung competition teams include 5 people who are local folk artists. The competing teams wrap the cakes by hand. Each team wraps 10 banh chung, including 5 salty banh chung and 5 vegetarian banh chung.

For the rice cake pounding competition, each team consists of 6 local folk artists. The time to steam sticky rice, pound rice and complete 5 cakes is 50 minutes. The words “Phuc”, “Loc” or “Tho” are pasted on the cakes in red in Han Nom characters.

The Chung cake and Day cake making contest takes place from February 4-5 (January 14 and 15) at the outer gate yard of Con Son Pagoda.

One day after the competition, the Fireworks Festival will take place, also at this location. There are 7 teams from 3 districts Gia Loc, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang participating in the festival. Each team has 25 official gunners and 5 reserve gunners.
