Her husband left her and her two children both suffered from hemophilia. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, born in 1992, in Nghi Khe village, Tan Ky commune (Tu Ky, Hai Duong) had to shoulder the burden of paying for her children's medical treatment and also earning a living to provide food for the whole family.

Visiting Ms. Thuy’s family, we felt heartbroken when we saw that the house of the old mother and her three children was only less than ten square meters, and had many cracks. The sun slanted into the house through the rotten window cracks. The rain leaked everywhere.

Ms. Thuy was born in less fortunate circumstances than her friends. When she got married, she hoped to have a less difficult life. But for many years, her husband has been missing, leaving her with two young children, Nguyen Dinh Loc, 9 years old, and Nguyen Dinh Nguyen, 7 years old. Sadly, both children suffer from hemophilia. Since her husband left, she and her children have had to return to her parents' house for support.

At the age of 1, Loc's skin turned purple and he bled profusely when he fell. Unfortunately, Nguyen later developed hemophilia like his brother. Since then, Thuy and her mother have been confined to a hospital bed at the National Children's Hospital twice a month. Loc and Nguyen's studies have been greatly affected.

Ms. Thuy said with tears in her eyes: "After receiving the drug, the children will have less pain. But sometimes, right after finishing this treatment, they continue to bleed in another place and have to go back to the hospital while the cost of treatment is up to several million VND per day. My salary as a worker, if I work for a full month, is only over 6 million VND. But every month I have to take more than ten days off to take care of my children at the hospital, so I am always in need and facing difficulties."

To have money to treat her child, Ms. Thuy has run around everywhere and has now borrowed nearly 100 million VND. Ms. Thuy does not know when she will be able to pay off this debt. Ms. Nguyen Thi Xo, Ms. Thuy's mother, is over 70 years old this year. Although she loves her children and grandchildren very much, her health is weak and she cannot help much.

In recent days, Loc and Nguyen's condition has worsened, causing their leg joints to swell again, causing them a lot of pain. Speaking through tears, Ms. Thuy said: "My children are in a lot of pain. Although the treatment appointment is 2 weeks overdue, I cannot take them to the hospital because I don't have money."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nu, President of the Red Cross Society of Tan Ky Commune, said that Ms. Thuy's family is in a particularly difficult situation in the locality because they have two children with serious illnesses. Recently, associations and organizations in the commune have had many support activities but have not been able to help Ms. Thuy's family ease their difficulties. We hope to receive support from the community to help Ms. Thuy's family.

Any help please send to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy in Nghi Khe village, Tan Ky commune (Tu Ky, Hai Duong). Phone number: 0337.280.172 or transfer to Tu Ky district Red Cross Association via account number 2312201001930, Agribank Tu Ky branch.
