How to massage acupressure points to prevent eye fatigue
Position: Sitting or lying down.
- Rub your hands together to warm them up and then gently press them against your face.
- Use your hands to gently rub your forehead and cheeks to warm the skin in these areas. Time is about 2 minutes.
- Stroke the forehead: Use the second, third, and fourth fingers of both hands to stroke from bottom to top, starting from the area above the eyebrows up to the hairline. Start stroking from the middle of the forehead to both sides.
- Rub the forehead with the distal interphalangeal joint of the thumb: Interlace both hands, place the second, third, and fourth fingers of both hands on the forehead and rub along the lines on the forehead from the eyebrows to the hairline. Start from the middle of the forehead and rub outwards.
- Forehead area: Place the second, third, and fourth fingers of both hands and pull the hands toward the temples and in the opposite direction, from the temples to the middle of the forehead, do 5 times.
- Massage the temples for 1 minute.
- Massage the forehead: Use one or two fingers to massage the entire forehead for about 1 minute.
- Rub the eyebrow arch: Use two thumbs to rub along the eyebrow arch from the inside out, above the upper edge of the orbital bone, do 5 times.
- Stroke the lower edge of the upper orbital bone: With both hands facing up, thumbs open and the remaining fingers slightly closed, place the thumb tissue at the lower edge of the upper orbital bone (slightly below the inner tip of the eyebrow), and begin stroking from the inside out.
- Gently press the acupoints around the eyes: Tinh minh (eye corner), Toan truc (inner eyebrow), Ngu yeu (between the eyebrow arch), Ty truc khong (outer corner of the eyebrow arch), Thua khap (below the eye bone).
- Use the second, third, and fourth fingers of both hands to gently press on the eye socket area. Press and release continuously 5 times.
- Massage the bridge of the nose: Use the second and third fingers of both hands to massage the bridge of the nose from bottom to top and from top to bottom. Do this 3 - 5 times.
Massage to prevent eye pain
- Massage both sides of the nose: Use the index finger prints on both sides to massage both sides of the nose from top to bottom.
- Press the Yingxiang point (right next to the two sides of the nose, about half an inch from the nose) using the interphalangeal joint near the index finger: Place the two thumbs close to the ear, hold the two hands loosely, use the interphalangeal joint near the two index fingers to press the Yingxiang point.
Treatment: Massage for 20 minutes/1-2 times/day. Maintaining regular acupressure massage will help you avoid eye strain and eye pain.
