The Politburo today reviewed the project to rearrange and reorganize administrative units at all levels and build a two-level local government, including the plan to merge some provinces, abolish the district level, and merge many communes.

The National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the project to rearrange commune-level administrative units.

The National Assembly is scheduled to open its session on May 5 to amend the Constitution and related laws. During this time, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider 63 proposals on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.
