On the morning of April 5, the People's Committee of Vinh Hoa commune, Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) introduced and released the book "The Story of Heroic Martyr Ha Van Noa" to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) and respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, April 21.
“The Tale of Heroic Martyr Ha Van Noa” by distinguished teacher, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Anh, published by the People’s Army Publishing House. The book consists of 116 pages, divided into 5 parts: Homeland, clan; current events and initial national salvation activities; joining the army and the years of tenacious fighting from 1947 to 1953; achieving special feats in the Dien Bien Phu campaign of 1954 and the hero who will not be forgotten.
The book is about Heroic Martyr Ha Van Noa, born in 1928, from Ngoc Hoa village, Vinh Hoa commune. He participated in many battles, was wounded twice, and lost his right arm in the Border Campaign in 1950. In 1954, participating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, he was the Captain of Company 243, Battalion 11, Regiment 141, Division 312. His company was awarded the "Determined to fight, determined to win" flag in the opening battle against Him Lam with the main mission of destroying stronghold No. 1. The opening battle of the Dien Bien Phu campaign was completely victorious. In the second phase of the campaign starting on March 30, 1954, he heroically sacrificed himself on April 2, 1954.
Martyr Ha Van Noa was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State on December 16, 2004.
Meritorious teacher, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Anh, former Head of the Political Department of the Logistics Academy, was born in 1938 in Ngoc Hoa village, Vinh Hoa commune (Ninh Giang).
