Ms. Truong Thi Mai affirmed that Vietnam will do its utmost together with Laos to preserve and foster the special solidarity relationship between the two countries to develop more deeply, practically and effectively.

On the afternoon of April 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai received the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, led by Mr. Thoongsavanh Phomvihane, Central Committee member, Head of the Lao Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, to visit and work in Vietnam, according to the Cooperation Agreement between the two Central External Relations Commissions.
At the reception, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the visit, congratulated Mr. Thoongsavanh Phomvihane on being awarded the Second Class Independence Medal by the President of Vietnam; and respectfully sent greetings to Mr. Bounthong Chitmany, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Vice President of Laos.
Ms. Truong Thi Mai was pleased with the achievements that Laos has made, including the important contributions of the Central External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; she believes that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress.
Emphasizing the importance of the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai thanked Laos for its great support and assistance to Vietnam up to now; affirmed that Vietnam will do its utmost together with Laos to preserve and foster the special solidarity relationship between the two countries to develop more deeply, practically and effectively in all fields, contributing to maintaining stability and development of each country.
Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emphasized the role of the two Central External Relations Commissions in advising the two Parties on foreign policies and guidelines, and enhancing cooperation between the two Parties and two countries in various fields and in the international arena.
Appreciating the cooperation results and contributions of the two Committees, Ms. Truong Thi Mai suggested that the two sides continue to promote their strategic advisory role, closely coordinate, enhance information and experience exchange, cooperation, and mutual assistance; monitor and promote the implementation of high-level agreements, contributing to the successful implementation of the Congress Resolution of each Party.
Thanking Ms. Truong Thi Mai for taking the time to meet her, Head of the Lao Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Thoongsavanh Phomvihane respectfully conveyed Mr. Bounthong Chitmany's regards to Ms. Truong Thi Mai; congratulated the important achievements that Vietnam has achieved after more than two years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; and believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve many new and greater achievements in the renovation process.
Mr. Thoongsavanh Phomvihane hoped that the two sides would increase sharing of experience in Party building, affirming that Laos' foreign policy always attaches top importance to relations with Vietnam, and expressed his joy at the increasingly deep and extensive development of the special solidarity between the two countries, and deeply thanked Vietnam for the great support and assistance that Vietnam has given Laos in the past struggle for national liberation and the current renovation process.
Informing about the recent situation in Laos, the results of cooperation between the two Foreign Affairs Committees and the direction of cooperation in the coming time, Mr. Thoongsavanh Phomvihane affirmed that he will closely coordinate with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Central Party of Vietnam to effectively implement the Agreement between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the Cooperation Agreement between the two Foreign Affairs Committees, contributing to the development of the special solidarity relationship between Laos and Vietnam, going deeper, more effective and practical in all fields.
