On the afternoon of September 18, at the Eastern Cultural Center, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province held a meeting between delegations from Hai Duong province and Vientiane (Lao People's Democratic Republic) to foster and deepen the special relationship between the two provinces.
The delegation of Vientiane province attending the talks included Comrade Kham Phan Sit Thi Dam Pha, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Vientiane province; leaders of the Government Office, a number of departments, branches and representatives of enterprises in Vientiane province.
Comrades: Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the meeting.
Also attending were comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee, the National Assembly Delegation of the province, leaders of a number of departments, branches, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the Provincial Friendship Cooperation Center, the Provincial Business Association and leaders of Hai Duong University and Hai Duong Central College of Pharmacy.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Hai Duong province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang warmly welcomed the delegation of the Party and government of Vientiane province to visit and work in Hai Duong.
Comrade Tran Duc Thang affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos friendship was built and nurtured through many hardships and challenges, even with blood. Through many historical periods, that friendship has been constantly nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries and has become a special tradition of solidarity, increasingly becoming close and inseparable, becoming a priceless asset of the two peoples that President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane have worked hard to cultivate.
Implementing the will and wishes of the leaders of the two countries, in 1984, the Provincial Party Committee, government and people of the two provinces signed a cooperation and twinning agreement, marking a meaningful first step in the relationship between the two localities; laying the foundation for the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Hai Duong and Vientiane provinces to be constantly consolidated and developed.
In recent years, despite the economic difficulties of the two provinces, the solidarity and friendship between Hai Duong and Vientiane have become increasingly deeper and stronger. The cooperative relationship has increasingly developed and expanded with many socio-economic programs and projects, helping and supporting each other to develop together, bringing practical results and improving the lives of the people of each province.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Vientiane Province Kham Phan Sit Thi Dam Pha affirmed that this visit has a noble meaning, contributing to fostering the special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the people of the two provinces, which is constantly blossoming and bearing fruit.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Vientiane Province said that during this visit to Hai Duong, the delegation was very happy to visit the mausoleum of the great President Ho Chi Minh - the talented leader of two nations, the founder of the Indochinese Communist Party - the predecessor of today's Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
On behalf of the leaders and people of Vientiane province, comrade Kham Phan Sit Thi Dam Pha shared the damage caused by storm No. 3 to the northern provinces of Vietnam in general and Hai Duong province in particular. He believes that under the leadership of the provincial Party Committee, the people of Hai Duong will soon overcome difficulties, gradually stabilize their lives and continue to develop more strongly. Within the framework of the meeting, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang and Vientiane Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Kham Phan Sit Thi Dam Pha gave an overview of the socio-economic development situation between the two provinces.
Comrade Kham Phan Sit Thi Dam Pha said that compared to Hai Duong, Vientiane province still has many limitations in economic development, average income per capita, budget revenue last year did not reach the set target... However, Vientiane still has great potential to develop industry, agriculture, tourism. He hopes that Hai Duong province will pay attention, help, and call for businesses to invest in Vientiane. The province is ready to welcome and create all favorable conditions for Hai Duong businesses...
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang shared some experiences in economic development and ensuring social security. He affirmed that Hai Duong is always ready to exchange, share and cooperate in all aspects with Vientiane province. Thereby, contributing to further deepening the special good relationship between Vietnam - Laos in general and Hai Duong - Vientiane provinces in particular. He requested the Center for Friendship Cooperation of the two provinces to continue to play a good role, acting as a bridge to help the leaders of the two localities regularly exchange information, coordinate well in implementing cooperation signing activities...
At the end of the talks, the leaders of Hai Duong and Vientiane provinces signed a "Cooperation Document for the 2024-2028 period" with many important contents in 11 fields, including: organization, personnel and Party building; education; health; investment - trade; agriculture - forestry; justice; culture, sports and tourism; information and communication; youth work; support for infrastructure construction; other fields.
The leaders of the two provinces also gave each other meaningful gifts and took souvenir photos to show the close relationship and strong ties between the two localities.
On the same evening, the delegation of Vientiane province attended the opening ceremony of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2024 at the invitation of the leaders of Hai Duong province.
