The IChO 2023 competition will be hosted by Switzerland. After three years of being held online, the 55th competition will be held in person from July 16 to July 25 with the participation of 348 candidates from 89 countries and territories.
With the results of 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal, the Vietnamese delegation continued to maintain its position in the top of the IChO competition, ranking 3rd in the whole delegation in terms of the number of Gold Medals, in which 2 students were in the top 10 contestants with the highest scores.
This achievement continues the series of achievements that the Vietnamese delegation has achieved at the IChO competition in recent years: 2020: 4 Gold Medals; 2021: 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal; 2022: 4 Gold Medals.
Notably this year, the practical exam was included in the exam content after three years of interruption due to online exams, but the practical results of Vietnamese students improved significantly.
According to the regulations of the IChO 2023 Council, on the first day, candidates will take a practical exam and on the second day, they will take a theory exam, each exam lasting 5 hours.
This year's theory and practice exams, although long, are considered difficult and interesting, covering many modern scientific issues, with content related to environmental protection, renewable energy, etc.
