During Tet holiday week, the whole country has nearly 1,000 suspected measles cases

During the 6-day Tet holiday, the whole country had 988 suspected cases of measles, no cases of dangerous infectious diseases were recorded.

Before the Tet holiday, the health sector warned of a measles outbreak that could spread during the Tet holiday.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, during the 6-day Tet holiday (from January 25 to 30), the whole country recorded 988 cases of rash fever suspected of measles, with no deaths.

Provinces and cities also recorded a total of 266 new cases of dengue fever, no deaths; 91 new cases of hand, foot and mouth disease.

During the first 6 days of Tet holiday, the whole country has not recorded any cases of whooping cough or diphtheria; there have been no outbreaks/clusters of dangerous infectious diseases spreading in the community.

Regarding medical examination and treatment, during the 6-day Tet holiday, medical facilities nationwide recorded 414,006 people coming for examination and emergency treatment. Of these, 128,066 people had to be hospitalized for treatment. Doctors performed 14,206 surgeries of all kinds; of which 2,410 were emergency surgeries.

During the 6-day Tet holiday, the country had 418 emergency cases due to firecrackers and fireworks; 36 emergency cases due to accidents caused by homemade weapons and explosives; no deaths were recorded.

There were 483 people examined and treated for digestive disorders, food poisoning from homemade food, and alcohol/beer intoxication, of which 294 people had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment, with no deaths recorded.

According to information from the food safety monitoring system (63/63 provinces/cities, 5 regional institutes nationwide) and the media, from the beginning of the Tet holiday until noon on January 30, no food poisoning cases have been recorded nationwide.
