Hanoi University no longer keeps Mr. Thich Chan Quang's high school diploma.

A representative of Hanoi University said that the school no longer has the admission records, including the high school diploma, of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (Thich Chan Quang).

The University of Foreign Languages ​​(now Hanoi University) was the first university to award a bachelor's degree in English to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet in 2001. Then, in 2019, Mr. Viet continued to be recognized for his graduation and awarded a bachelor's degree in law with a second degree - part-time study, with excellent grades at Hanoi Law University.

Regarding Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's study process at Hanoi University, the school representative said that Mr. Viet studied the English language program, distance learning system from 1994 - 2001.

"Currently, the school no longer keeps the enrollment records, including Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's high school diploma, because according to regulations, the enrollment records must be kept until the end of the course," said a school representative.

According to the school's representative, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's English language study period lasted 6 years and 4 months, from August 1994 to December 2000, in the distance learning system. Mr. Viet's university degree was granted in early 2001. "Thus, the training period of 6 years and 4 months is within the allowed time frame for the distance learning system," this leader informed.

Previously, Hanoi University said it had coordinated with the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training to review and report information about Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's academic records.

"After receiving official information from the management agency about Mr. Viet's high school diploma, the school will follow the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training," Hanoi University informed.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs regarding the verification of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's high school diploma. The leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training confirmed that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's name was not on the list of candidates and the scoreboard for the high school diploma.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, for admission and training at bachelor, master and doctoral levels, students who commit fraud in preparing documents to obtain degrees and certificates (using fake degrees in their application) will be forced to leave school. Diplomas that have been granted will be revoked and canceled according to regulations.
