The Deputy Prime Minister authorizes the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to sign the dossier according to regulations.
The Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to complete the necessary procedures to submit the dossier to UNESCO before March 31, 2022.
The Via Ba Chua Xu Festival in Sam Mountain is a traditional festival that has been preserved and practiced for many generations in Chau Doc, An Giang. The festival is imbued with the culture of the people of the Southwest region, demonstrating the identity and continuity of the Kinh community in the process of cultural exchange with the Chinese, Khmer, and Cham people. In 2014, the festival was included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The festival of Lady Chua Xu of Sam Mountain takes place from April 22 to 27 (lunar calendar) every year. The festival is performed according to traditional rituals, including: the opening ceremony, the procession of the Lady's statue from the top of Sam Mountain to the temple, the Ba bathing ceremony, the ceremony of inviting the royal decree of Thoai Ngoc Hau and his two wives, the Tuc yet ceremony, the Xay chau ceremony, the Chanh te ceremony and the Hoi sac ceremony.
The Via Ba Chua Xu festival in Sam mountain contains vivid data about the historical imprints of the period when Vietnamese people came to An Giang land, with exchanges and integration in economic, cultural, political and military aspects with the Khmer, Cham and Chinese ethnic groups, creating consensus in the process of building and defending the country, harmony in cultural community relations, both continuing the cultural career of the ancients and embellishing and cultivating a culture with unique Vietnamese identity.
