On November 20, the launching ceremony of the program "Dang Thuy Tram Bookcase" took place at the Vietnam Women's Museum.
The event was organized by the Dang Family Council of Vietnam in coordination with the "Soldier's Heart" Organization, Vietnam Environment and Urban Magazine, Vietnam Women's Museum, and "Forever 20" Club to donate books to schools and hospitals nationwide for 3 years (2023 - 2025).
According to Colonel, Writer Dang Vuong Hung, Chairman of the "Soldier's Heart" Organization, the initiator of the "Dang Thuy Tram Bookshelf" Program, the difference of "Dang Thuy Tram Bookshelf" is that it will be supplemented annually and regularly cared for with many rich activities such as: Exchange between authors, characters and readers; awarding "Smart and creative readers"...
Colonel, Writer Dang Vuong Hung said that although it has only been in trial operation, in the past 3 months, 6 "Dang Thuy Tram bookcases" have been donated to specific addresses. They are Kinh Bac Secondary School (Bac Ninh city); Bo Ha Town Secondary School (Yen The district, Bac Giang province); Dong Mo Town Secondary School (Chi Lang district, Lang Son province); Thien Than Orphanage School - Thu Duc city, Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Ho Chi Minh City and Duc Long Secondary School (Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province). Currently, 2 more bookcases have been prepared and are about to be donated in Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province - where Dr. Dang Thuy Tram sacrificed her life more than 50 years ago. They are Pho Cuong Commune Secondary School and Nguyen Nghiem Secondary School, Duc Pho town.
The program strives to have at least 15 “Dang Thuy Tram Bookcases” donated to schools or hospitals in many regions across the country within 3 years (2023 - 2025). Each bookcase is worth 100 - 150 million VND and is made with socialized funding.
For schools and hospitals that already have libraries and bookcases in operation, if they want to add books, they can send a written request to the program or contact directly. The Organizing Committee of the "Dang Thuy Tram Bookcase" Program will consider and send free books by post. For individuals and units that want to donate books and library equipment, the Organizing Committee is also ready to connect and facilitate the implementation..., Colonel, Writer Dang Vuong Hung shared.
At the event, representatives of participating units signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the "Dang Thuy Tram Bookshelf" Program, witnessed by representatives of the family of Heroic Martyr Dang Thuy Tram.
On this occasion, the organization “Soldier’s Heart” coordinated with the “Forever 20” Club and the Vietnam Women’s Museum to receive relics and memorabilia from the anti-American resistance war of martyrs’ families and families with revolutionary contributions. They were the family of Mr. Le Van Sang, relative of Martyr Le Cong Tan; the family of Mrs. Tran Thi Thuc, relative of Martyr Nguyen Van Loc; Mr. Phan Dinh Giam, representative of the relatives of Martyr Phan Dinh Kha; Mr. Tran Van Son, former Deputy Head of the Government Cipher Committee, presented memorabilia of his father, Tran Sa, a veteran revolutionary in Quang Nam. These memorabilia will be kept at the Vietnam Women’s Museum; the Documentation Center and Cultural Space “Soldier’s Heart”.
At the event, the Organizing Committee introduced the book "Cinderella" by author Le Thy Binh and received 1,000 books, worth 200 million VND, donated by the author to be given to libraries and bookcases of schools and hospitals.
