On the morning of March 6, the Center for Rehabilitation, Education, Vocational Training and Employment for the Blind (Hai Duong Provincial Blind Association) opened the 54th elementary massage and acupressure class in 2024.
The course attracted 15 students who are members of the Blind Association of 12 districts, towns and cities in the province.
The course lasts for 3 months, students will be equipped by experts from the Center for Training Rehabilitation Staff for the Blind (Vietnam Association of the Blind) with knowledge and skills in anatomy; psychology and communication skills; traditional medicine theory; specialized acupuncture points by region and pathology; advanced massage and acupressure techniques; massage and acupressure procedures by body region...
Students will be granted certificates. Through the course, the aim is to improve the expertise of local massage and acupressure members, meeting the needs of community health care; contributing to increasing income and improving the lives of members.
It is known that over the past 25 years, the Provincial Blind Association has actively coordinated with agencies and units to organize many vocational training courses for the visually impaired, thereby creating stable jobs for members. Particularly for massage and acupressure, the Provincial Blind Association has opened training courses for about 800 members. After attending the vocational training courses, most students have found stable jobs, with an income of 2.5-4 million VND/person/month.
In 2023, 13 service points belonging to social establishments in the province attracted about 66,000 massage customers, more than 12,200 cupping customers, with revenue reaching nearly 6 billion VND.
Hai Duong currently has more than 3,000 members of the Blind Association, operating in 203 branches.
