Chi Linh City checks information about Mr. Phan Thanh Hoa treating illness with unscientific methods

The reason for the inspection is that there is information reflecting that Mr. Phan Thanh Hoa in Tien Son residential area, Cong Hoa ward (Chi Linh city, Hai Duong) is treating illness in an unscientific way.

During the inspection (which was announced in advance), Mr. Phan Thanh Hoa stated that he did not organize any medical examination and treatment activities at home. The row of boarding houses in Mr. Hoa's land was for his children, grandchildren, and relatives who lived far away to stay. During the inspection, there were only a few people in Mr. Hoa's house that Mr. Hoa introduced as his children, grandchildren, and relatives.

Speaking to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, a representative of the Chi Linh City Interdisciplinary Inspection Team said the reason for conducting the inspection at Mr. Phan Thanh Hoa's house was because he showed signs of treating patients using spiritual methods. The Inspection Team requested the local authorities, ward and residential area health workers to continue to monitor the situation, promptly inform, and strictly handle if Mr. Hoa performs medical examinations and treatment not in accordance with regulations.

Contrary to the information Mr. Hoa provided during the inspection, according to information from some people who had come to Mr. Hoa's house for treatment and the fact-finding of Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Hoa's way of curing "all diseases" is to "exorcise spirits" and "exorcise demons" inside the patient. When someone comes to ask for treatment, Mr. Hoa often works with a few "disciples" to call out "spirits" for interrogation. He calls out the "spirits" and "demons" that he says are residing inside the patient's body, then the "spirits" enter his "disciples" so that he can talk and interrogate them. Then, with just a few shouts, Mr. Hoa said that he had "destroyed" the "spirits" and "demons" inside the patient's body.

According to Chi Linh City Police, Mr. Phan Thanh Hoa was born in 1958, his hometown is Kien An District (Hai Phong City), and he previously resided in Ngoc Ha Ward, Dong Da District (Hanoi City). For many years, Mr. Hoa registered his permanent residence in Tien Son Residential Area, Cong Hoa Ward. After that, he bought land and built a house. For the past few years, Mr. Hoa has started to provide medical examination and treatment to people. Recently, many people from many provinces and cities have come to his house for "treatment", most of them have serious illnesses that are difficult to treat at medical facilities.
