Continuing his working program in Ca Mau, on the morning of November 17, General Secretary To Lam attended the National Great Unity Day in Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; comrades of the Party Central Committee, leaders of ministries, central departments, branches, the Office of the General Secretary and Ca Mau province.

In recent years, Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, has had many changes in social life, people's lives have been improved both materially and spiritually. Many patriotic emulation movements and campaigns have become increasingly effective and practical. People and the government are increasingly close, supporting each other in life, in carrying out the tasks of local socio-economic development.

Here, 97% of inter-commune and inter-hamlet roads are asphalted or concreted to technical standards. 100% of people have access to clean water and safe electricity.

The poverty rate has decreased to 1.44% (8 households left); over 98% of households meet cultural standards; 100% of children of school age go to school; 100% of people participate in health insurance...

The Party cell and the Front Working Committee, in coordination with the hamlet chief and socio-political organizations, have done a good job of propaganda, promoting the great national unity bloc, and together competing to build increasingly spacious and beautiful new rural areas.

Speaking at the festival, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and excitement to attend the National Great Unity Festival with the people of Mui Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The General Secretary emphasized that the legendary and historical Ca Mau Cape is the land of heroic people, those who stand at the forefront to preserve the country and expand the territory.

This place bears the heroic mark of many generations of ancestors, those who "carried swords to open the country," conquered nature, protected animals, and shed blood and sweat to create the beautiful land of today.

To achieve that, in addition to extraordinary human strength, the spirit of Great Solidarity is the factor that crystallizes those achievements.

Pleased to see the achievements of the government and people of Mui hamlet, Dat Mui commune, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front, the General Secretary commended and highly appreciated the initiative, efforts, and achievements in the past time of the Party Committee, government, and people of Mui hamlet, Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district.

In order to successfully implement the socio-economic development goals of the country as well as Ca Mau province, build developed communities, peaceful villages, green, clean and beautiful environment, the General Secretary requested that Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations of Ca Mau province in general, Mui hamlet, Dat Mui commune in particular, must truly unite, be unanimous, promote good traditions and achievements in the past time; be determined to successfully implement the targets and tasks of the 13th National Party Congress Resolution and the resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, compete to achieve achievements to welcome Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress.

"It is necessary to strongly and resolutely carry out the tasks and goals set right now with the spirit of entering an era of national development and prosperity," the General Secretary noted.

The General Secretary requested that the role of ownership and self-management of each citizen be promoted to build united, prosperous and happy residential areas, aiming to maximize the strength of solidarity, creativity and volunteerism of the community, and that each individual in the community must be self-managed to improve material and spiritual life.

“Each citizen must constantly strive to self-manage to maintain security and order; self-manage together to unite in economic development, support each other in life and in labor and production in the spirit of 'Sharing the sweet and the bitter', 'Helping each other in times of need', and improving life together; self-manage together to participate in environmental protection; self-manage together to participate in protecting border sovereignty, sea and island sovereignty. Grassroots cadres must well implement the motto 'People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit' with the spirit of promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members; must be close to the people, closely follow the people, regularly grasp the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people; overcome the manifestation of being close to the people but not understanding their thoughts and aspirations,” the General Secretary emphasized.

The General Secretary requested to organize patriotic emulation movements well, implement well social policies and programs, social security, and sustainable poverty reduction for the people, pay special attention to those with meritorious services, vulnerable groups, and people in coastal and island areas and particularly difficult areas in the province; especially the movements "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas," "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind," and the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," focusing on helping 8 poor households escape poverty early and become well-off and rich.

The General Secretary requested that leaders of Ca Mau province pay attention to organizing the National Great Unity Day for residential areas, so that the Day truly becomes a happy day for the community, thereby encouraging and motivating the patriotic spirit in all classes of people, consolidating village and neighborhood sentiment, promoting the strength of the community and having many positive impacts on the political, cultural and social life of each locality, so that each individual, family and community has the responsibility and opportunity to participate in building a prosperous and happy country, a strong and lasting nation in the process of innovation, building and defending the Fatherland.

Party committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts at all levels of Ca Mau province must strongly innovate their thinking, promote their intelligence, and arouse the strength of the entire people to focus on organizing and implementing the remaining tasks of 2024, to successfully reach the target of implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, contributing to the whole country's successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards successfully organizing the 14th National Party Congress and realizing the Party's greatest goal of all people being prosperous, happy, and living in a peaceful and developed environment.

General Secretary To Lam presents gifts to policy families

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented gifts and 20 million VND to the Party Cell and the Front Working Committee of Mui Hamlet; and also presented 109 gifts, each consisting of a gift bag and 2 million VND to policy families, poor and near-poor households in Dat Mui Commune.

Earlier, on the same morning, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation offered incense to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan at the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan Temple (Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien District).

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates offered flowers and incense to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan, expressing their sincere gratitude to the National Ancestor and the ancestors who established the foundation for an independent Vietnam; vowing to unite and promote the strength of the entire nation to build an increasingly strong and powerful Vietnam, and for the Vietnamese people to become more prosperous and happy.

Also on the morning of November 17, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation offered flowers at the Mother Statue; visited the Hanoi Flag Tower, an architectural work bearing a strong cultural and historical imprint and signifying the nation's territorial sovereignty, national sovereignty over seas and islands, uniting the North and South as one family, and the deep, close affection of the people of the Capital for their homeland, the Cape.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam listened to a report on the landslide situation and coastal landslide remediation work in Ca Mau province. Appreciating the province's efforts with the support of the Central Government, the General Secretary emphasized that landslide remediation, sea level rise prevention and climate change response are very important tasks, therefore need to be carried out urgently, in which, it is necessary to calculate appropriate, effective and cost-saving technologies.

The General Secretary also suggested that attention should be paid to investment in land reclamation and sea reclamation, creating new development space, serving tourism development and seaport services, contributing to the development of the province and the country.
