On the morning of October 1, local time, General Secretary and President To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy, met and had a friendly talk with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh reported to the General Secretary and President on the results of the Embassy's work, the situation of Vietnam-Mongolia bilateral relations and work with the Vietnamese community in Mongolia.
Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that currently the Vietnamese community in Mongolia has about 900 people; there are two organizations: the Association of Vietnamese People in Mongolia and the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia.
In recent times, organizations and associations in Mongolia have actively participated in activities organized and guided by the Embassy; carried out many practical and effective activities towards the homeland and country.
Recently, the community and Embassy staff raised 241 million VND to support localities in the country affected by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
Representing the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan, Member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia, sincerely thanked the affection and attention of the Party and State leaders, the support and companionship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Vietnam in Mongolia for the community.
He affirmed that the community always looks towards the homeland and wishes to contribute its strength and intelligence to the country's development, while continuing to carry out practical activities, contributing to nurturing the friendly relations between the two countries to a new height.
Representing the younger generation, Nguyen Thi Doan Trang, a second-year student at the Faculty of International Relations, National University of Mongolia, said that the development of Vietnam-Mongolia relations has opened up many opportunities for students from both countries to exchange and study. However, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Mongolia is currently limited, expressing her hope that more young Vietnamese people will know about and take full advantage of the educational conditions that the Mongolian Government offers to Vietnam.
At the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his joy and emotion at having the opportunity to meet and talk with the Vietnamese community in Mongolia in a cozy atmosphere at the Vietnamese Embassy.
On behalf of the Party, the State and personally, General Secretary and President To Lam sent to the officials and staff of the Embassy and the entire Vietnamese community in Mongolia warm regards, wishes for health, happiness and the warmest feelings from the homeland of Vietnam.
Talking to the staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam said that this visit to Mongolia is of great significance, taking place when the relationship between the two countries is at its best stage of development; mutual understanding and trust between the people of the two countries is increasingly deepening; cooperation in many fields such as politics, defense, security, economy and tourism is increasingly expanding and achieving some substantial results in recent times.
The two sides issued a statement establishing a “Comprehensive Partnership” on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations; at the same time, they discussed major measures to promote the bilateral relationship in depth, effectively, practically and long-term in the coming time.
Informing the Vietnamese community in Mongolia about some highlights of the domestic situation, the General Secretary and President clearly stated his determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. This is the highest goal of the entire Party, people and army in 2025. This task will be carried out with the highest determination, greatest efforts, drastic actions, focus and key points with the most effective implementation solutions, concentrating all resources and measures, striving to achieve and exceed the set goals.
To achieve the above goals, it is necessary to implement drastic, decisive and accelerated solutions to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2025; achieve the targets and continue to create strong changes in the following years; focus on the highest priority solutions to ensure high economic growth along with environmental protection, social security, and best care for people's lives; firmly ensure national defense and security, improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs and constantly enhance Vietnam's position and contribution to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Regarding the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the community needs to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, striving to rise up, actively integrating, complying with the law and contributing to the development of the host country, contributing to the development of the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership.
