The 125th Infantry Regiment, Hai Duong Provincial Military Command, is interested in equipping new soldiers with "soft" skills to quickly integrate into the military environment.
Many activities and good models
In 2025, the 125th Infantry Regiment was assigned to train 230 new recruits from the provinces of Hoa Binh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen. The unit is very interested in equipping "soft" skills so that new soldiers can quickly integrate into the military environment and have more motivation to study and practice.
On the evening of March 13, Battalion 2, Infantry Regiment 125 organized the program "Comrades' Confessions". The program opened with performances by soldiers in the unit.
Songs and dances with themes praising love for homeland and country created a vibrant atmosphere filled with solidarity.
The sharing session was the highlight of the night. In an open atmosphere, young soldiers confidently shared their stories, thoughts, and feelings about life, study, and training in the military environment.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Tuan Dung, Political Commissar of the 125th Infantry Regiment, said: “The program of sharing with comrades helps officers and soldiers, especially new soldiers, understand each other better; creating an open, democratic, and united environment. This activity plays an important role in helping new soldiers quickly integrate into the military environment, confidently strive to complete their tasks well, and contribute their youth to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.”
One month ago, Battalion 2, Infantry Regiment 125 deployed the "Zero-cost Phone" model to create conditions for new soldiers to call home for free at certain times, without affecting training and work tasks.
The unit used its own funds to purchase 10 mobile phones, combined with the existing landline phone system at the unit, and assigned to the Military Council of each company to manage and maintain. Each call from a soldier is registered by an officer, with statistics on the caller, time, and content of the call, so there is no situation where soldiers use the phone against the unit's regulations.
Not only the “Sharing with teammates” activity, the “Zero-dong phone” model, many meaningful activities in the unit are organized for new soldiers such as “Birthday with teammates”, “Youth forum”… thereby strengthening solidarity, helping new soldiers to reduce homesickness, quickly integrate into the military environment, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
Do "3 together" well
Determining ideological work is the key factor that determines the quality and results of training and education for soldiers. Therefore, equipping new soldiers with “soft skills” has been a concern of Regiment 125 since the first days of enlistment.
These are skills to participate in activities of the Youth Union and youth movements, collective activities, communication, behavior, solving situations in life, taking care of personal health, protecting the environment...
Soft skills training for new soldiers is carried out in a systematic manner, associated with the "3 together" model (eating together, living together, working together). Officers from squad to platoon and company regularly care, are close, and give enthusiastic and thoughtful instructions, creating an atmosphere of solidarity, intimacy, and openness, helping soldiers to reduce homesickness, study and practice voluntarily, and comply well with the regimes and regulations of the army and unit.
Thanks to that, after more than a month of studying and training in the military environment, the new soldiers have gradually formed disciplined living habits, become more agile, active and confident.
Private Tran Quang Quang, a soldier in Squad 10, Platoon 4, Company 1, shared: “When I joined the unit, doing the work at the right time trained me to have a disciplined lifestyle, and equipping me with skills helped me communicate more confidently. Now I feel more mature and grown up.”
