With the total carrot output of the winter-spring crop reaching nearly 60,000 tons, the value of carrots in Duc Chinh (Cam Giang) reached about 270 billion VND.
Duc Chinh farmers harvest winter-spring carrots
According to the Duc Chinh Agricultural Service Cooperative (Cam Giang), this winter-spring crop, farmers in the commune have basically finished harvesting 1,460 hectares of carrots in the commune and rented fields in other localities. The average carrot yield is about 40 tons/ha, equivalent to last year. With a total output of nearly 60,000 tons, farmers in the whole commune earned about 270 billion VND from carrots.
Carrot output is mainly exported to the Korean market.
This year, carrot export output accounts for about 80%, an increase of nearly 10% compared to the previous crop, mainly exported to Korea, Japan, some Southeast Asian countries and the Middle East, the rest is for domestic consumption.
