Regarding the situation of playing labubu lottery, which many people are interested in, at a meeting to provide information on socio-economic issues in the area organized by the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of August 29, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thang Long, Deputy Head of the Staff Department, City Police said that labubu lottery is a form of betting in exchange for stuffed animals of labubu, which is flourishing online.

Currently, the unit has grasped the operation method and organization of the game and is collecting documents on this activity to handle it according to the law if violations are detected.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thang Long, the form of raising money and drawing lots for prize-winning games must have the approval and permission of the authorities with strict regulations and rules.

This is one of the types that has many potential risks of violating the law if not managed by the authorities. Selling stuffed animals like Labubu or any product in this form may be a sign of gambling.

If the total amount of money involved in a single game is 5 million VND or more, and the number of participants is 10 or more, it will constitute an act of organizing gambling and gambling for both the seller and the buyer.

In addition to signs of violating the law, people participating in the above activities can easily become victims of fraud such as buying counterfeit goods, being tricked into transferring deposits to order goods online, winning prizes but not receiving products...

Ho Chi Minh City Police always proactively and synchronously deploy many professional measures to grasp, detect and handle violations of the law, including activities that take advantage of cyberspace to gamble or organize gambling.

The handling of any act showing signs of violating the law must be based on documents and evidence collected in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the law.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thang Long recommends that if people discover gambling-related activities, they should quickly contact the police to report, provide information, and assist the police in verifying, investigating, and handling them according to regulations.

Ho Chi Minh City police also recommend that people be vigilant with lucky draw games or other forms of online prize games to avoid violating the law.

Recently, Labubu stuffed animals have become a popular trend among young people, including Vietnamese people. They are considered art toys and can be used as decorations or accessories for handbags, backpacks, keychains, etc.

Following the trend, some labubu sellers on TikTok and Facebook have organized games in the same form as lottery, lotteries, and bingo (called raffle) and received the attention and participation of many people.

Each round of play has an average of 10-20 seats or more, depending on the scale. Players can use money to buy one or more seats, if they want to increase their chances of winning. The amount spent can range from tens of thousands to millions of dong, depending on the rules set by the livestream channel owner.
