On December 28, the Provincial People's Committee approved the task of adjusting the general planning of Gia Loc town until 2025.
The total planning research area is over 767 hectares, an increase of over 105 hectares compared to the approved planning. The urban population is forecasted to be about 22,000 people by 2025, about 26,050 people by 2030 and about 29,880 people by 2035 (the population in 2022 here is 18,595 people).
Gia Loc Town is a district-level comprehensive center of finance, economy, culture, education, training, health, science and technology, a district-level administrative center; it has a gateway connecting the economic space of Hai Duong province with the capital Hanoi and Hai Phong city. This is an important satellite city of Hai Duong city, playing a role in promoting the socio-economic development of the province, district and region. It is expected to be a type IV urban area in the urban system of Hai Duong province.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Gia Loc District People's Committee to arrange capital to organize the planning; authorized the District People's Committee to organize the appraisal and approval of the cost estimates for planning and other related costs.
