Participating in traffic during Tet is an art because the roads are crowded, everyone is in a hurry, the traffic volume of people and vehicles doubles, triples the normal days. Everyone should pay attention to have a safe Tet.

So from today, February 7, Hai Duong students and teachers officially enter the 11-day Tet holiday (from February 7 to February 17). Civil servants and public employees will have 7 days off (from February 8, the 29th of Tet to February 14, the 5th of Tet). Before saying goodbye to each other, teachers, students and colleagues certainly do not forget to wish each other a happy new year and make plans to meet again after the longest holiday of the year.

When the Tet holiday officially begins, it is also the time when people go shopping, go back to their hometowns to visit relatives and friends; go to wish each other a happy new year, go on spring outings... The journey on each route is also diverse, those who go far book plane tickets, take trains, or buses; those who go near and have the means can drive their own cars or rent a car, take a taxi, those who are not well-off can go by motorbike. Trains and buses in spring are also more crowded because everyone is full of Tet goods.

The roads are packed, everyone is busier. Especially at the gateways to Hai Duong city such as the intersection of Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway with National Highway 38B in Gia Loc district, National Highway 5... there are times when there is congestion, cars are lined up one after another. It is estimated that the number of vehicles entering and exiting Hai Duong these days has increased by about 2.5 times compared to normal days. In the streets, among the people walking around are vehicles carrying goods, flowers, ornamental plants... to bring spring to every home.

With a hasty mentality, everyone wants to quickly solve personal matters, so sometimes they forget the red light, encroach on the lane, enter the prohibited road... Therefore, although there have been warnings, the traffic police and traffic inspectors have been deployed, but every year before, during and the first days after Tet is also the time when the traffic safety and order situation is complicated, the risk of traffic insecurity is always latent. Many traffic accidents still occur. For example, the traffic accident that occurred on the morning of February 5 on National Highway 38B, in Gia Loc town, seriously injured a woman. It is known that this woman had an accident while on her way to go shopping for Tet. During the 2023 Tet holiday, medical units in Hai Duong examined and provided emergency care to 437 people who had traffic accidents (23 people less than the 2022 Tet holiday), of which 120 people had to be hospitalized. Every Tet, there are people who die from traffic accidents...

How can we shake hands and meet each other again after the Tet holiday? How can we all travel safely during the spring days? That is not a difficult question for everyone.

When participating in traffic during Tet, everyone should be more careful, give way, and help each other. Before departure, it is necessary to periodically check and maintain the vehicle according to regulations, ensuring that the vehicle operates stably and safely on long distances when traveling or returning home to celebrate Tet. Take the initiative in the route, time and regularly update the traffic order situation, limit traffic to congested areas, causing waste of your own time and affecting the traffic flow and handling of congestion by the authorities. Comply with speed regulations and keep a safe distance when participating in traffic; carefully observe and overtake vehicles safely and according to regulations; drive in the correct part of the road, lane, strictly comply with the traffic light system; follow the rules of giving way when crossing intersections; especially do not drive after consuming alcohol, beer, etc.
