Creating clear changes in preventing corruption and negativity in localities

In 2023, the Party's internal affairs sector and the provincial Steering Committees for Anti-Corruption and Negative Matters have made great efforts to successfully complete the tasks according to the set programs and plans. The work of researching, advising, proposing and implementing the Party's viewpoints, policies and major orientations, and the State's laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption and negative matter prevention and judicial reform continued to receive attention and achieved many results.

Speaking at the conference, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai affirmed that under the leadership of the Party, the whole country has gone through more than half of the 13th National Party Congress term, achieving many positive results in socio-economics, national defense, security, foreign affairs, Party building and the political system, improving people's lives, continuing to strengthen people's consensus and trust in the Party. In that general result, there are important contributions from the Party's internal affairs sector and the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, the provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, which have always strictly followed the leadership and direction of the Party, with high determination to complete assigned tasks, and have been highly appreciated by public opinion.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai emphasized that in 2023, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity has seriously implemented the conclusions of the General Secretary at the Conference to review the first year of establishment; urgently perfected the organization and apparatus, completed regulations, statutes, work programs and put the activities of the Steering Committees into order after a short time, creating a clear change in the work of preventing corruption and negativity at the local level. A number of major cases were focused on, strictly handled, without forbidden areas, without exceptions, receiving the consensus and support of the people.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai assessed that the Party's internal affairs sector has always proactively researched and promptly proposed many practical issues, creating new breakthroughs in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; strengthening guidance, training, fostering, monitoring and urging the implementation of the work program of the Steering Committee for preventing and combating corruption and negativity at all levels; proposing solutions to remove obstacles and difficulties. It is noteworthy that the inspection and supervision work has been promoted, focusing on areas and areas prone to corruption and negativity, where there are prominent and pressing issues.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai requested the Central Internal Affairs Committee, the Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees to continue researching, evaluating, and analyzing the situation, the objective and subjective causes of the violations that have been discovered, and handling them to find better solutions. Pay attention to "prevention is better than cure", review and supplement legal policies in areas with many common violations in the past, create a necessary legal framework so that cadres do not dare to violate and encourage cadres to dare to think and dare to do. Cadres of each agency, organization, and locality must pay special attention to self-training, self-examination, self-correction, and exemplary words and deeds, especially leaders and managers.
