Coming to Po Lo Primary Boarding School (Ha Giang), Sao Vang Heart Charity Club presented gifts with a total value of about 84 million VND.

“Will you join us in the highland charity work this year?” One day at the end of November 2024, Hoang Tung, the Chairman of the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club, called me. Having gone with the group once in 2023, Tung invited me again this year.

Remembering the feeling of being with the charity workers' group with burning enthusiasm, the joy spreading throughout the journey, the red flags and the fire of love in the hearts of each member seemed to warm the rocky highland space, making me unable to resist.

So I set off with the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club on December 20, 2024.

In 2024, Hoang Tung's club visited Po Lo Primary Boarding School, Hoang Su Phi District, Ha Giang Province. This was the group's 5th "Lighting up the Dream" program to give gifts to disadvantaged schools in mountainous areas.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, students were still excited to go to school to receive gifts from the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club.

As before, the members who were workers could not take much time off, especially at the end of the year, so the group had to leave on Friday night and return on Sunday. The distance was long but the time was urgent, some of them had to work overtime, so when they left the factory, they left immediately, still in their uniforms.

The journey continued until almost noon the next day before reaching the school at the northernmost point of the country. After a quick lunch in Vinh Quang town, the whole group moved to Po Lo Primary Boarding School, together unloading the belongings on the vehicle to be on time for 2pm to give gifts to the children.

Each "Lighting up Dreams" trip of the club is a time to send love to children in the highlands.

The program seemed to be in trouble when the sky darkened and it started to drizzle. However, the weather could not stop the steps, excitement and joy of the children in the mountainous areas who still lacked a lot to receive the meaningful gifts given by the workers from the lowlands.

Coming to Po Lo, the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club brought to the children and the school televisions, solar lights, uniforms, sweaters, woolen hats, socks, pens, notebooks, etc. Receiving the hearts of the members of the delegation, teacher Hoang Minh Long, Vice Principal, Chairman of the Trade Union of Po Lo Primary Boarding School, was moved to say: “Po Lo is one of the border communes of Hoang Su Phi district. People here mainly cultivate and raise livestock on the arid mountain slopes, so life is still difficult. The children and the school are still in need of many things. The club's gift has really warmed our school in the mountains.”

In the cold of the highlands, together with the members of the delegation, I clearly felt the joy in the children's eyes. Receiving the uniform from me, Lu Thi Chieu (grade 5) happily said: "My uniform is all worn out, thank you very much."

Up to now, the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club has organized 5 charity programs "Lighting up dreams" to give gifts to schools and children in mountainous areas in Ha Giang, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau provinces. According to Mr. Hoang Tung, the club's chairman, each program calls for the mobilization of many essential supplies to give to schools and students. The total value of the 5 charity programs is about 373 million VND.

In addition to organizing the program “Lighting up dreams” for students in mountainous areas, every year, Sao Vang Heart Charity Club also organizes many other meaningful programs. Every Lunar New Year, the club mobilizes support for the program “Warm Spring of Human Love” to give gifts to the elderly and disabled in Nam Sach, Thanh Ha districts and Hai Duong city.

The club has organized 6 "Spring of Warmth" programs to give gifts to people in difficult circumstances.

This Tet At Ty is the 6th time the club has organized the activity "Spring of Warmth". This year, the club has raised 20 million VND, giving gifts to 4 disadvantaged cases.

For many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sach (born in 1950) in An Luong village, An Phu commune (Nam Sach) has always received gifts from the club. Ms. Sach is currently unable to walk and lives alone in a house of gratitude that local organizations have called for support to build.

This year, as soon as she saw the members of “Golden Star Heart” coming to her house, Mrs. Sach choked with emotion: “Oh, the Golden Star Heart children have come. I have been waiting for them forever. Only when you come, I can consider it Tet.” Saying that, Mrs. Sach tried to drag her crippled legs closer to hold hands and thank the club members.

Tinh Loi Garment Company Limited is one of the enterprises with the largest number of employees in Hai Duong province. Workers come from many provinces to work. There are always many unfortunate lives in the company. In the face of each pitiful situation, members of the Sao Vang Heart Charity Club launch a fundraising campaign to share the difficulties with colleagues.

Every Sunday, club members who do not have to work overtime, if they can arrange it, will come to support Thien Nhan Tam Club (Cuong Xa Pagoda, Hai Duong City) to cook porridge and distribute it for free at Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital.

Every Sunday, some club members support the Thien Nhan Tam Club (Cuong Xa Pagoda, Hai Duong City) to cook porridge and distribute it for free at Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital.

These volunteer activities have become a tradition of the club over the years since its establishment in 2017. Some years the program was interrupted due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since 2023, the club has reconnected and carried out regularly to spread good deeds in the community.

Club members have found their own way to suit the workers' circumstances.

Talking about those meaningful works, Club Chairman Hoang Tung said: “I think everyone wants to do many good things. We workers have normal incomes and difficult conditions, so it is difficult to support others. We have found our own way with the spirit of "gourd, please help squash", "a little torn leaf covers a lot torn leaves". We call on our colleagues to help a little, call on the community to join hands and put in our own efforts, so we can help people in need".

As a workers' club, their way of doing charity is also true to the nature of workers. To raise money for fundraising, there were times when they did not hesitate to drag loudspeakers to sing and sell pens along the streets of Hai Duong City. In years when they could not arrange time due to a lot of overtime, they sold pens in all the factories. Their work has spread and been supported by many people inside and outside the company. By accumulating small amounts, they have mobilized a large amount of money compared to the workers' income to do charity work.

As workers, they are not afraid of hardship and difficulties. During the volunteer trips with the group, I found them very enthusiastic. During the "Lighting up the Dream" trip in 2024, despite having just had a very serious accident in his leg and the wound was still bleeding, Pham Dinh Chuyen was still enthusiastic about joining the group. Chuyen said that as long as he was healthy enough, he would go, and he had never missed any of the club's trips.

Each member has their own reasons for joining the club, but they are very valuable. It was the difficult childhood circumstances that urged Dinh Van Quynh to want to share and help others. It was the daily teachings of gratitude from her grandmother and mother that made Giap Thi Chi always enthusiastic about the club's volunteer activities...

However, to maintain good activities, Mr. Hoang Tung said that the club is currently facing many difficulties. The members are workers, so many of them change jobs, even go abroad to work or when starting a family, they will not have time to participate. It is also difficult to call for charity because factory workers cannot support much. Therefore, the funding is mainly through online appeals.

Since its establishment, with the mission of spreading love, every step of the club has been marked by practical and humane activities. Each trip, each gift, each smile given is a testament to the enthusiasm and unity of the entire group of workers carrying the “Golden Star Heart”.
