Serious accident in Lang Son: Cement container truck driver prosecuted and detained

Regarding the particularly serious traffic accident that killed 5 people and injured 10 others, on November 20, information from Lang Son Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency, Provincial Police had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1985, residing in Lieu Ngan village, Hoang Van commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province) for the act of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation."

Investigation results determined that the traffic accident occurred because Quach Dinh Trong (born in 1966, residing in group 23, zone 3, Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province) was driving a passenger car, license plate 14B-036.57, traveling from Lang Son to Hanoi, not paying attention, driving at an incorrect speed, and crashed into the left rear of a tractor-trailer, license plate 98C-016.45, pulling a semi-trailer 98R-013.79 on a cement truck.

The tractor-trailer driven by Nguyen Van Tuan had a broken engine and was parked in the same direction ahead. The hazard lights were not turned on and there were no hazard warning signs in front or behind the vehicle.

Based on collected documents, on November 1, the Investigation Police Agency, Lang Son Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute and issue a detention order against Quach Dinh Trong.

Continuing to expand the investigation of the case, on November 16, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute the accused and an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Nguyen Van Tuan.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Lang Son Provincial Police is continuing to consolidate files and documents to handle the subjects according to regulations.

Previously, at about 2:10 a.m. on October 31, at Km70+830, National Highway 1A, in the area of ​​Rung Cam-Cham Non village (Hoa Lac commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province), a traffic accident occurred between a 16-seat passenger contract car 14B-036.57 and a tractor-trailer 98C-016.45, pulling a semi-trailer 98R-013.79.

Then, the 16-seat passenger car continued to collide with the tractor 77H-041.15, pulling a semi-trailer 77R-046.08 running in the opposite direction.

The accident resulted in 5 deaths and 10 injuries. Initial investigation determined that the 14B-036.57 passenger bus, when it reached the above section of the road, which was a steep curve, and it was dark and there were no street lights, crashed into the left rear of the damaged 98C-016.45 tractor trailer, which was stopped and parked on the side of the road.
