The second Vietnamese culinary map record displays 126 typical dishes from 63 provinces and cities, double the number of dishes of the first map, held during the festival "Promoting Vietnamese culinary culture" from October 20 to October 22 at the Independence Palace (District 1) organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association in coordination with related culinary units.

After setting the record, the new Vietnamese culinary map has 189 dishes. The S-shaped food map will be made by hundreds of chefs and displayed in a model form during the festival days.

The first Vietnamese Cuisine Map model

The first Vietnamese culinary map was recognized by the Vietnam Record Association and the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings) in April last year. The old model was over 20 meters long, including 63 dishes from 7 regions, prepared in a year and made by 50 chefs across the country. The dishes appearing on the map are famous specialties of provinces and cities such as Saigon broken rice, An Giang fish sauce hotpot, Nam Dinh pho, Meo Vac Ha Giang dried buffalo meat, La Vong Hanoi fish cake, Hai Phong crab noodle soup or Nghe An eel soup. Many other traditional dishes will be introduced in the new map.

Within the framework of the festival, there are 100 - 120 booths introducing regional dishes. Visitors can experience and enjoy local specialties prepared by professional chefs, including chefs from 5-star hotels and artisans from all over the country. The festival also has other activities such as culinary shows, cooking classes on stage, and a ceremony to honor Vietnamese chefs. The event is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.
