According to information from Quang Ngai Provincial Police on June 1, recently, two local residents became victims of fraud through dating apps with billions of dong in losses.

Specifically, Mr. NQT (residing in Quang Ngai City) found an online dating app on the website http://coll-vn.com, introduced by a Telegram account named Phuong Ngoc, phone number 0926.796.xxx. After providing him with a login name and IP code, Phuong Ngoc texted that to participate and become a member on this dating platform, he needed to open a VIP card, deposit money to accumulate points, and then receive interest on the website http://coll-vn.com.

Gullible, Mr. T. deposited money to open a VIP card and transferred 306,524,000 VND to account number 0862726xxx under the name Huyng Huu Loc at VPBank.

After completing the money transfer and ending the game, Phuong Ngoc introduced Mr. T. to meet the financial department with the Telegram account name Khanh Linh, phone number 0569.xxx.392 for instructions on withdrawing money.

Initially, Mr. T. was able to withdraw 1 million VND, but later when he made an order to withdraw the entire remaining amount, the account was frozen due to the reason of invalid withdrawal. Phuong Ngoc asked him to pay an additional 394,843,000 VND to reactivate the account.

After paying in full, Mr. T. still could not withdraw the entire amount to his account. The reason given by the scammer was that his credit score was not enough and he needed to deposit more money to withdraw the account.

Before realizing he had fallen into the scam, Mr. T. had transferred a total of 701,367,200 VND.

Similarly, Mr. NQP (residing in Duc Pho town) was introduced to access the website vnl--x----.com.
