On June 19, in Hanoi, the Press - Artists Committee (Sao Do Club) held a meeting to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024).

Attending the meeting were former members of the Party Central Committee: Pham Van Tho, former Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; Prof. Dr. Vu Van Hien, former Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine, former General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, former Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; leaders of the Sao Do Club and representatives of the Club's departments.

On the side of Hai Duong province, there were comrades: Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Duong province; and representatives of a number of departments and branches of the province.

Speaking at the meeting, journalist Ngo Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Party Building Magazine, Head of the Press - Artists Department (Sao Do Club) said that the department was established in 2004 and has been operating for 20 years. After many stages of development, the Press - Artists Department currently has a total of 44 members, including 8 newly admitted members. The members of the department are currently working at central newspapers, magazines, radio and television agencies such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper, Party Building Magazine, People's Army Newspaper, Military Radio and Television Center, National Defense Magazine, Industry and Trade Newspaper, Construction Newspaper, Inspection Newspaper, etc.

According to journalist Ngo Minh Tuan, in recent times, journalists of the Press - Artists Department have always strived to fulfill their duties and responsibilities well, while always looking towards their homeland, doing many practical things, actively supporting and accompanying the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province. In newspapers, radio stations and magazines in the Central, there have been many news and articles about the achievements and comprehensive innovation in socio-economics, Party building, political system building, ensuring national defense - security, and expanding international relations of Hai Duong province. Some journalists have also actively participated in press awards launched by Hai Duong province such as: Nguyen Luong Bang Press Award, "Hai Duong overcoming difficulties - accelerating" Press Award, "Hai Duong aspiration, development" Press Award.

Journalist Ngo Minh Tuan also said that members of the Press - Artists Board are always ready to accompany the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province, continue to have press works to widely propagate Hai Duong province, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Hai Duong Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

At the meeting, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province respectfully sent his best regards and congratulations to the journalists on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, and highly appreciated the Red Star Club and the Press - Artists Committee for organizing many practical and meaningful activities in the past time, contributing to the development of Hai Duong homeland.

The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee gave an overview of the achievements of Hai Duong province in the past time. Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2024, under the comprehensive leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the efforts and determination of all levels and sectors in directing and operating, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to recover positively. Most areas achieved better results than the same period last year, creating momentum for development in the coming time.

Specifically, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated to increase by 10% over the same period last year, achieving higher results than the proposed scenario. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.52%; the industry and construction sector increased by 13.71%; the service sector increased by 6.93%...

“With the above economic growth rate, compared to the national average of more than 5%, Hai Duong province ranks 7th out of 63 provinces and cities and 3rd out of 11 provinces in the Red River Delta,” emphasized Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung.

Notably, Hai Duong has focused on trade promotion to boost agricultural product consumption for farmers, expanding to markets in Europe, the Middle East, etc. “Recently, Hai Duong province sent a working delegation to Australia and New Zealand to promote agricultural product consumption. Many successful businessmen from Hai Duong there have supported the province to connect. Therefore, after the working trip, the province exported 400 tons of lychee to Australia. This is a typical example of the province's efforts to promote agricultural product consumption,” said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung.
