Cloud hunting in the Western region of Nghe An

Buoc Mu (Nga Ngoi commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An) is about 250km from Vinh city. This is a place loved by many tourists. Because this is the ideal place to hunt clouds in the Western region of Nghe An.

Coming to Buoc Mu from November to March, visitors will admire the phenomenon of sea of ​​clouds, when clouds cover the mountains and forests in white.

To get to Buoc Mu, visitors can travel by high-chassis car or motorbike. From the center of Na Ngoi commune, move to Buoc Mu Border Guard Station. This is the only direction to go cloud hunting.

Along the L8-L11 border belt, visitors can check in the sea of ​​clouds at points including km6, km7, km9, km12, km14, km17.

Not every day tourists can "catch the cloud" in one shot, but it depends on the time and you need to prepare in advance.

According to Mr. Nguyen Vinh Tam, an officer of the Ky Son District Forest Protection Management Board, if the temperature is too low, snow and fog will appear in Buoc Mu. This situation has also appeared here recently. If the temperature is high or the wind is strong, the sky is usually clear and sunny, then a sea of ​​clouds will appear.

During the ideal time for cloud hunting, the Ky Son Protective Forest Management Board welcomes about 4-5 groups/month for sightseeing and experience.

In addition to cloud hunting, from Buoc Mu, visitors can travel another 15km by road to check-in at Pu Xai Lai Leng peak on the Vietnam - Laos border. Pu Xai Lai Leng is 2,782m high, known as the roof of Nghe An.

Coming to Ky Son in general and Na Ngoi commune in particular, visitors can experience the bull fighting festival of the Mong people, the throwing of the Thai people, the custom of making offerings of the Mong and Thai people; and visit unique community cultural tourism.
