Galaxy S24 integrates AI to create new features and experiences on smartphones.
After much speculation, the Galaxy S24 series was launched at the Unpacked event in San Jose, California (USA) in the early morning of January 18 (Hanoi time). The event was attended by 1,700 guests and media agencies from around the world at SAP Center to await the new flagship of the Korean mobile company.
"There will be a lot of skepticism when new technologies are introduced. That's why we build AI into both hardware and software to ensure user safety on both devices and the cloud," TM Roh, President and CEO of Mobile Experience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, opened the Unpacked event.
International media filled the hockey arena at SAP Center (San Jose) at 1:00 a.m. on January 18 (Hanoi time) to await the Galaxy S24.
Before demonstrating the AI power of the new phone, Mr. Roh said that Samsung will provide Android operating system upgrades and security patches for 7 years for Galaxy phones. This can be considered one of the best software support policies from an Android smartphone manufacturer today.
AI features on Galaxy S24
The entire auditorium was filled with cheers and long applause when the Samsung representative demonstrated the ability to translate calls directly on the Galaxy S24. With AI built into the device, users from both ends of the call can be translated by both voice and text without any additional applications. Currently, Galaxy AI supports 13 different languages, including Vietnamese. What's special is that this feature works even when the device is not connected to the Internet and the other end is using a landline phone.
Interpreter can also translate live conversations in real time by splitting the screen so that people facing each other can read the translated text from the other person. Similar to AI on calls, this feature works without wifi or mobile data. This is especially suitable for people who often travel and communicate with foreigners.
Vietnamese is one of the first 13 languages to support real-time translation on Galaxy S24 without an Internet connection.
Samsung also integrated AI into the keyboard to build a smart chat assistant. Users only need to enter a short text, artificial intelligence will automatically complete the text in many different styles, from polite messages to colleagues to funny status lines to share on social networks.
AI also allows for real-time translation of messages and emails, automatic summarization of incoming messages and suggested responses and actions, such as notification of upcoming time, location... while the user is focused on driving on the road.
Artificial intelligence helps Samsung Note automatically create summaries, reformat notes, and create cover pages. While the voice assistant can convert voice to text, then summarize and translate directly in real time. These features are all built into the smartphone, no network connection required.

Google representatives appeared on the Unpacked stage to demonstrate the completely new search capabilities on smartphones. "Galaxy S24 opens a new era on mobile by marking an important turning point in the way we search," said a Google representative.
Try AI features on Galaxy S24
With the "Multi-Search" feature, users can search for anything that appears on the phone screen by holding down the Home key and circling the content they want to search for. With the built-in AI generator on the Galaxy S24, users do not need to know about prompts (commands) to create creative wallpapers by combining available keywords.
Galaxy S24 also supports AI photo editing to remove objects, change the layout, and improve photo quality. AI generation will automatically compensate for missing scenes, move and resize subjects in the photo. Photos edited with AI will have a small icon to help users distinguish them from the original photo.
Galaxy S24 starts at 22.9 million VND
During the event, Samsung did not spend much time talking about the detailed hardware specifications of the new smartphone. The standard S24 version is equipped with a 6.2-inch screen, while the S24+ uses a 6.7-inch screen. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the largest with a 6.8-inch screen. All three use 120 Hz screens, with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. The Galaxy S24 integrates the Exynos 2400 chip while the other two models use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Galaxy S24 series with flatter, more square design than its predecessor
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame and comes in four color options: gray, black, purple, and gold. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ come in onyx black, marble gray, cobalt purple, and amber gold.
In Vietnam, the Galaxy S24 series will start accepting pre-orders from January 18, with expected delivery on January 30. The standard version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory starts at VND22.9 million, the 512 GB version is VND3.5 million more expensive. The Galaxy S24+ with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory costs VND26.9 million, the 512 GB version is VND30.5 million. The highest-end version, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, uses 12 GB RAM and 1 TB internal memory and costs VND44.5 million.
With upgrades in features, appearance and price, most major dealers in Vietnam expect Galaxy S24 sales to grow 1.5 times compared to its predecessor. AI features are one of the novelties to attract new users.
At the Unpacked event, Samsung also revealed a smart ring with integrated AI. However, the company did not announce detailed information about features, configuration or price.
