Screening of people with kidney failure who are indicated for dialysis in Hai Duong

Faced with the pressure of overloading dialysis patients, the Hai Duong Department of Health has just directed 5 medical units with artificial kidney departments or units in the province: Military Hospital 7 and Medical Centers of Ninh Giang, Gia Loc districts, Kinh Mon town and Hai Duong city to increase resources, improve operating capacity, admit patients... to reduce the load on Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital.

The Department also requested units to review the current situation and needs of patients with end-stage renal failure and those with indications for periodic dialysis in the area so that the health sector can have a plan to arrange human resources and machinery to promptly serve patients. Units need to consider the option of increasing shifts from 3 shifts/day to 4 shifts/day; increase mobilization and attraction of resources and socialization plans to promptly overcome the shortage of dialysis equipment and machines; develop more units with dialysis capacity to share the pressure...

Currently, the Department of Nephrology - Artificial Kidney of Hai Duong General Hospital has 36 artificial kidney dialysis machines that are operating at full capacity with nearly 200 outpatients undergoing periodic dialysis, not to mention inpatients receiving emergency treatment... The situation is overloaded when human resources and dialysis machines are working 24/7.

Other hemodialysis facilities in the province are also overloaded, with at least three shifts per day. Medical staff, patients and machines mostly operate from early morning until 8 to 10 pm every day.
