Women's Union members of residential area No. 10 summarize funds to support children with serious illnesses

It has become a tradition that at the end of each year, the Women's Association of Zone 10, Le Thanh Nghi Ward, Hai Duong City, gathers at the cultural house to summarize the amount of money members have saved for charity activities.

The Women's Association of Zone 10 has 276 members. The "piggy bank" movement to save money to help orphans, children with serious illnesses, and women's families in difficult circumstances has been implemented for over 10 years. Every month, pension members contribute a portion of their money to the fund...

From 2022 to 2023, the association's fund has reached nearly 50 million VND. From this money, the sisters have carried out many meaningful volunteer activities such as cooking porridge for poor patients, supporting people affected by storm No. 3...

The movement of “raising plastic pigs” has received positive responses from members. At the end of 2024, the association representative slaughtered 60 plastic pigs for over 16 million VND. All savings from raising plastic pigs were used to support poor women members and women in difficulty; scholarships were given to orphans with good academic performance, etc.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, son of Vu Thi Huong in lane 23, Ba Trieu street (Hai Duong city) has congenital heart disease. Huong and her husband are factory workers with low income, facing many difficulties in treating their son. Huong was very touched by the attention, encouragement and gifts from the Women's Association of Zone 10.

Nguyen Duc Minh, a student at Binh Minh Secondary School in Zone 10, has a blood disease. His family is in difficult circumstances, so this year he also received support from women in the area thanks to the "raising plastic pigs" movement to save money.

Representatives of the Women's Union of Le Thanh Nghi Ward and the Women's Association of Residential Area No. 10 presented gifts to children with serious illnesses and disabilities.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Women's Association of Zone 10 visited and gave gifts to 22 families in difficult circumstances and with serious illnesses with a total amount of nearly 5 million VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung, a member of the Women's Association of Zone 10, said: "From the beginning of the year, the association launched a movement to "raise plastic pigs" to save money. Although the amount of support is small, I hope it will contribute to encouraging the spirit, helping children with serious illnesses and women in difficult circumstances. I myself often deduct a part of my salary and save a little more money for daily shopping to "raise plastic pigs". I also encourage my children and grandchildren to participate."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bau, Head of the Women's Association of Residential Area No. 10, Le Thanh Nghi Ward, emphasized that learning from Uncle Ho about the spirit of thrift, anti-waste, mutual love and support. From this activity, each female member is more aware of saving money in daily expenses, saving to participate in saving activities for the community and society.

With the above meaningful volunteer activities, the Women's Association of Residential Area No. 10, Le Thanh Nghi Ward was highly appreciated by the government; commended and rewarded by the City Women's Union.
