Coordinate to resolve online driver's license issuance and renewal procedures

On the morning of May 17, the Department of Transport organized a program to coordinate the handling of administrative procedures for issuing and exchanging driving licenses online on the National Public Service Portal.

Representatives of the Department of Transport and leaders of a number of related units discussed solutions to remove obstacles in implementing public services for online driver's license renewal on the National Public Service Portal. Some current problems are that health examination data on the National Public Service Portal is still slow compared to people's needs, access to the National Public Service Portal is sometimes congested...

The Department of Transport and the Provincial Post Office have signed and implemented a coordination regulation on the delivery of documents and the return of results of administrative procedures through public services. The two sides agreed to add to the coordination regulation the return of driver's licenses to people who have submitted online application documents and registered to receive results by post on the National Public Service Portal. The post office has become a point of introduction and guidance for people who need to issue and return driver's licenses.
Since 2016, the Provincial Post Office and the Department of Transport have signed a cooperation service to receive and deliver documents for issuing and exchanging motorcycle driving licenses via the postal system. To date, the Provincial Post Office has received and returned results for 28,000 cases.


Postal staff are trained in skills to support people in applying for and renewing driver's licenses online.

On August 4, 2022, the two sectors continued to sign a coordination regulation on the delivery of records and results of administrative procedure settlement via public postal services. Since its implementation, 27,544 sets of records and driver's licenses have been delivered to candidates taking the exam at driver's license training centers and facilities.

At the end of the program, lecturers from the Department of Transport trained 50 postal employees on skills to support people in issuing and renewing driver's licenses online, providing instructions on electronic identification, logging into the National Public Service Portal, submitting applications for driver's licenses, and common situations during the process...
