Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor talks with Hai Duong workers

On the morning of May 25, the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to discuss the innovation of trade union activities in the new situation and worker security issues for 400 officials, union members and workers. Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu was the speaker.

At the conference, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hoped that Hai Duong trade unions at all levels would enhance the supervisory role of trade union organizations in innovating their activities. Trade union officials need to improve their negotiation skills, build collective labor agreements, protect the legitimate rights of workers, and contribute to building harmonious labor relations in enterprises. Collective labor agreements need to be widely consulted and approved by workers. Grassroots trade unions need to promote democracy in the workplace, practice the ownership rights of civil servants, public employees, and workers, and strengthen internal solidarity...

With the topic of worker security, comrade Ngo Duy Hieu has outlined the current situation of Vietnamese workers' lives. A part of workers have low incomes and difficult lives, so they are easily drawn into illegal activities. Trade unions need to be there to propagate and help workers stay away from social evils. In addition to propaganda, trade unions need to pay attention to improving the cultural, spiritual and material life of workers so that they can find joy in life and work.

At the conference, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, comrade Ngo Duy Hieu presented 35 gifts and visited and presented gifts to 15 workers and laborers in difficult circumstances (each gift worth 1.3 million VND) at the boarding house in Le Xa village, Cam Phuc commune (Cam Giang).
