Ngo Thanh Van's action movie changes release date, competes with "Avatar"

Pushing the release date 1 week earlier than expected, Ngo Thanh Van's movie "Thanh Soi" will have to compete head-to-head with the action blockbuster "Avatar".

The movie Thanh Soi - Wild Chrysanthemums in the Night by producer and director Ngo Thanh Van has just been announced to change its release date from December 30 to December 23.

Sharing the reason for changing the release date at the last minute, Ngo Thanh Van said she wanted the audience to have more time to watch the film before having to rush into the busy work schedule at the end of the year. The earlier release also means that Thanh Soi will have to directly compete with the blockbuster Avatar 2.

Ngo Thanh Van takes on a special role in the film.

Thanh Soi is expected to be the "top" Vietnamese action film of 2022. Ngo Thanh Van excitedly said that she has been waiting for the day her "brainchild" is released to the audience for the past 5 years.

In this work, the action and special effects elements are carefully invested with the combination of experts from Hollywood. The thrilling motorbike chase scenes of Toc Tien or the explosion scenes in the film are meticulously done, which can make the audience excited.

Ngo Thanh Van said: “I wanted to create a new step forward and impression, so I unintentionally caused difficulties for the production team, because the conditions I proposed had never been done before. If invested properly, Vietnamese action films will not be inferior to those of other countries in the world.”

Dong Anh Quynh plays the female lead role.

Thanh Soi's story revolves around the tragic journey of Bi (Dong Anh Quynh). An unhappy and abused childhood haunted Bi and caused her to abandon her family and live a wandering life. She then met and became sworn sisters with Thanh (Toc Tien) and Hong (Rima Thanh Vy). The three female fighters together hunt down the ruthless playboy Hai "Mad Dog" (Thuan Nguyen) and his followers - the fear of every innocent girl.

Through a few "teaser" scenes, the audience was able to admire many eye-catching martial arts scenes, especially the fierce scene between Dong Anh Quynh and Thuan Nguyen. To have these scenes, the trio of "fiery beauties" of Thanh Soi had to practice martial arts for nearly half a year with a frequency of up to 6 hours a day to meet the director's requirements.
