The photo contest "Action for the blue ocean" was launched with the aim of promoting to the people and the international community a Vietnam without plastic waste.
On the occasion of the 2024 Environmental Action Month, Natural Resources and Environment Magazine (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) launched a Photo Contest with the theme "Action for the blue ocean".
The contest is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment).
Garbage, nylon bags, batteries, plastic items, air quality, and environmental pollution are urgent issues that are receiving much attention from countries around the world, including Vietnam.
The photo contest "Action for the blue ocean" was launched with the aim of selecting artistic photos with profound content and meaning about protecting the marine environment; thereby promoting to the people and the international community about a Vietnam without plastic waste.
The contest aims to raise awareness and change the behavior of local authorities, individuals and businesses in reducing the use of plastic products, especially single-use plastic.
Through the images from the contest, the Organizing Committee calls on the community to join hands to reduce plastic waste and be more aware of the negative impacts of improper waste management on human health and the environment; encourage proper disposal and the use of environmentally friendly products, helping the community feel the beauty and importance of protecting the marine environment.
The contest also aims to recognize and encourage organizations and individuals who have actively participated in propaganda work on reducing ocean plastic pollution.
Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living and working in Vietnam, regardless of professional or non-professional status, age and gender, can submit their works to the contest.
The entries are high-quality, profound photos depicting individuals and communities taking practical actions to protect the environment, protect marine and ocean ecosystems, and emphasizing the need to protect the marine environment for sustainable development; images depicting the urgency of protecting the ocean from the impacts of environmental pollution, especially marine pollution.
Entries must demonstrate creative ideas and practical perspectives to solve plastic pollution problems, bringing practical benefits to the community, environment and society.
Each author can submit up to 10 works to the contest.
