A driver driving in the wrong direction on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway was recently fined by the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 of the Department (Team 6).

At 2:17 p.m. on May 3, driver TQS (born in 1978, residing in Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province) was driving a black pickup truck, Ford Ranger brand, license plate 86C-143.XX on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway. At Km11+800, driver S. drove the car in the opposite direction at high speed in the direction from Phan Thiet city to Dau Giay. Images of the incident were posted on social media.
The driver told the police that because he did not know the way, he drove the vehicle in the wrong direction.
For the above behavior, Mr. S. was fined 17 million VND by Team 6 according to the provisions of Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic. In addition to the fine, Mr. S. also had his driver's license revoked for 6 months.
The 99 km Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, connecting Dong Nai and Binh Thuan, started construction in September 2020 and opened to traffic on April 29. The project has a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND, a scale of 6 lanes, a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a minimum of 60 km/h.
