Today (August 15), the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has decided to allocate 185,000 doses of DPT-VGB-Hib vaccine (5-in-1 vaccine) to 49 provinces/cities and will transport them to localities in August.
185,000 doses of this 5-in-1 vaccine are provided by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund.aid to Vietnam to serve the expanded immunization work for children.
As soon as it arrived in Vietnam, the vaccine batch was processed for testing. On August 14, the National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals released the results of testing these two vaccine batches.
A representative of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (Ministry of Health) said that on August 15, the Institute decided to allocate 185,000 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine to 49 provinces/cities and will transport them to localities in August.
Vaccination allocation for children who have not received the first dose, in which priority is given to vaccinating children with the youngest month of age first, then to older age groups who have not received the first dose.
Previously, 72,300 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine were also provided to 14 northern mountainous provinces from domestic funding sources to implement vaccination in August.
Thus, 63/63 provinces/cities will be provided with the 5-in-1 vaccine in August and localities will deploy DPT-VGB-Hib vaccination in routine vaccination in August and September 2023.
The 5-in-1 vaccine is used to vaccinate children from 2 months to under 18 months old who have not been fully vaccinated against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B, and Hib.
