At this time, people in Lien Mac commune (Thanh Ha) are rushing to harvest off-season guava to serve the 2023 Lunar New Year.
The entire Lien Mac commune grows 500 hectares of guava, of which 400 hectares are cared for according to VietGAP standards, with a harvest yield of 20,000 tons/year and a revenue of 160 billion VND.
Guava growers are excited because this year's Tet guavas are selling well, with high prices, currently 12,000 VND/kg.
On average, every day near Tet, Nam Vu Clean Agriculture Cooperative in Mac Thu village, Lien Mac commune consumes 1 - 2 tons of guava for farmers, supplying to supermarkets and collective kitchens in and outside the province.
Ms. Tieu Thi Hanh's family in hamlet 14, Mac Thu village, Lien Mac commune, grows 1 hectare of guava and cares for it according to VietGAP standards, earning 160 million VND in revenue.
One-month-old guava is tightly wrapped in plastic by people until 2.5 months after harvest, ensuring food hygiene and safety.
